The RoomStores, a Phoenix company that once used the marketing slogan “put it all together to save you more” filed for bankruptcy on December 18 at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Arizona. The company estimates it assets and liabilities range between $1 million and $10 million.

Craig Ganz, a partner with Ballard Spahr LLP, surmised that the company's bankruptcy filing could be the result of failed marketing.

"Their marketing efforts were going to be restricted or eliminated and they apparently rely heavily upon advertising as a key for the business model," Ganz said.

A large portion of their marketing came from unsecured supplier claims. Ganz said the Phoenix Suns, which is owed almost $330,000 in unsecured claims for marketing, sued the RoomStores last week.
