With recent studies showing that there is an upward hiring trend for entry-level attorneys, it is important to remember that there are some things that are more important than finding the most talented young attorneys.

“As the number of lawyers that we hire has been reduced slightly, what we’ve learned is that investing up front in the interview process and making sure that we’re getting someone who’s going to be a terrific fit here is taking more importance,” said John Grugan, the partner-in-charge of the Philadelphia office hiring committee at Ballard Spahr LLP.
