A consultant hired by the University of Toledo to assess how the university handles reports of sexual violence recommended UT hire a Title IX coordinator whose job is primarily devoted to Title IX issues.

The university today released a report by Ballard Spahr, a Baltimore-based law firm hired by UT to review its practices.

“We recognize the importance of this, and we are paying close attention to it,” said interim university President Nagi Naganathan.

The review was conducted in November and December and included interviews with about 100 people. The report was sought partly in response to a federal Title IX complaint filed in September against the university by a former student who reported she was raped in 2013.
