Several firms in 2014 filled their lead marketing position, including Ballard Spahr, and in doing so, expanded the role to include business development, often emphasizing that function over marketing.

Ballard Spahr filled its chief marketing officer position by naming former Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr business development leader Timothy John H. Delaney as its new chief marketing and business development officer.
