Ballard Spahr announced that it has hired for its Wilmington, Delaware, office a veteran Delaware litigator who focuses on corporate litigation and insurance coverage defense.

David J. Margules joins the firm from the Wilmington litigation boutique of Bouchard Margules & Friedlander PA. His departure comes after the firm’s managing partner, Andre G. Bouchard, left to become chancellor of the Delaware Court of Chancery.

Mr. Margules has 30 years of experience representing businesses before the Delaware Court of Chancery, which is known as the venue for the nation’s most complex and significant corporate litigation.

“Ballard Spahr’s national reach and resources provide an outstanding platform for me to expand my practice,” he said. “I look forward to working with my new colleagues in Wilmington and throughout the firm to develop the office into a prominent and respected center for complex litigation, particularly matters pending in Chancery Court.”

Mr. Margules represents plaintiffs and defendants in fiduciary duty claims, corporate valuation proceedings, corporate and partnership control issues, and insurance coverage defense.
