Ballard Spahr partner Adrian R. King, Jr., Practice Leader of the firm's Government Relations, Regulatory Affairs and Contracting Group and P3/Infrastructure Group, has left the firm to join the Pennsylvania Attorney General's office. After incoming Attorney General Kathleen Kane is sworn in on January 15, Mr. King will assume the role of First Deputy Attorney General. Ms. Kane has stated that she "handpicked" Mr. King and four others for her team of deputy attorneys general.

Before serving at Ballard Spahr, Mr. King was Deputy Chief of Staff to former Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, overseeing the state’s public safety and homeland security functions. He also served on the Governor's cabinet as Director of the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency.
