Ballard Spahr Chair Mark Stewart reports the appointment of partner Han C. Choi to Atlanta Office Managing Partner, succeeding Sumner C. Rosenberg in the role. Mr. Choi will continue his public finance practice.

Mr. Choi stated: "Atlanta is a potential growth opportunity for Ballard Spahr. We want a full-service office so we can service all our clients locally as well as nationally. I am grateful and honored to have this responsibility handed to me." He added that the Atlanta office is "looking for opportunities to add more lawyers, whether in IP or not, who have good practices and fit well in this culture."

Mr. Choi joined the firm a year ago with three other partners to expand the office's capabilities beyond intellectual property law because they sought "a broad national platform that was well-respected and had all the service areas we would need for our clients." He and several other Ballard Spahr attorneys have since launched the Korea Initiative, led by Atlanta partner Byung J. Pak. The initiative's mission is to garner business from Korean companies establishing manufacturing facilities in the Southeast.
