Ballard Spahr has bolstered its financial services team by adding Glen P. Trudel, an attorney with significant banking and consumer finance regulation experience, to its Wilmington, Delaware, office, the firm announced Wednesday.

Mr. Trudel, formerly a partner with Connolly Bove Lodge & Hutz, said he will focus mostly on consumer finance issues, including the design and documentation of credit products, and the representation of clients in regulatory, enforcement, and litigation issues. He also will advise on the expanded regulation arising from implementation of the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau.

“My practice dovetails nicely with the strengths of the firm and its [consumer financial] group, which has a national reputation as a leader in both the regulatory and litigation sides of consumer financial services issues,” Mr. Trudel said.
