The Philadelphia Business Journal has named 30 people to its list of pioneers in the Philadelphia business community, both living and deceased. Former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell, now with Ballard Spahr and a political analyst for NBC News and MSNBC, was one of three movers and shakers to garner the most votes. The awardees were honored at the PBJ’s 30th anniversary celebration.

As mayor of Philadelphia from 1992 to 2000, Gov. Rendell is widely credited with bringing about a renaissance in the City and generating five consecutive budget surpluses, while reducing business and wage taxes.
