Justice Roberto Rivera-Soto, known for wearing his signature bow tie and white shirt under his judicial robe, has joined Ballard Spahr as a partner in Ballard Spahr's Cherry Hill office. He was the first Hispanic American to serve on New Jersey's high court. He wrote 192 opinions, including 92 majority decisions while on the bench.

The Justice was a private practice litigator when he was nominated to the court in 2004. He also has worked as general counsel at Sands Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City and Caesar's World Inc. in Las Vegas. His practice will focus on appellate work, complex commercial litigation, construction dispute resolution, and gaming.
