Ballard Spahr has launched a blog, the CFPB Monitor, that will focus on the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. The blog will keep an eye on the Bureau’s "sweeping regulatory, supervisory, and enforcement powers," said Alan Kaplinsky, Chair of the firm’s Consumer Financial Services Group.

The CFPB’s system allowing consumers to complain online about their credit card companies and requiring those companies to respond within 10 days was the impetus for a recent post to the blog. To date, the Bureau has not commented on Ballard Spahr’s blog.
