Ballard Spahr received the Champion of Justice Award from the Community Legal Services of Philadelphia (CLS), recognizing the firm's commitment to equal justice and its efforts to ensure that low-income Philadelphia residents have access to representation. The firm provides substantial long-term financial support for CLS initiatives and regularly collaborates with CLS on pro bono referrals. Ballard Spahr partner Jason A. Leckerman serves as treasurer on the CLS Board of Trustees, and Mary Gay Scanlon, Executive Director of the firm's Pro Bono Program, is a former board member.

"Everything we provide to CLS, whether legal services, personnel, or monetary contributions, helps people who desperately need and deserve assistance," firm Chair Arthur Makadon said. "We also applaud our partner Jason Leckerman and others at the firm who give so generously of their time to CLS and its clients."
