Jon M. Laria, a real estate partner at Ballard Spahr, has been named Managing Partner of the firm’s Baltimore office. He succeeds Raymond G. Truitt, also a real estate partner, who has been named Managing Partner for Finance and Operations at the firm.

Mr. Laria is Chair of the Maryland Sustainable Growth Commission, Co-Chair of Gov. Martin O’Malley’s Housing and Community Development transition team, and a member of the Governor’s Transition Steering Committee. He serves on the Urban Land Institute’s Baltimore District Council and is Vice Chair of the Healthy Neighborhoods, Inc., board.

Mr. Truitt, who will continue to be resident in Ballard Spahr’s Baltimore office, will remain on the firm’s elected Board. He is a Fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, and speaks and writes frequently on commercial real estate topics for ACREL, the International Council for Shopping Centers, among other legal and commercial real estate organizations.
