Matthew N. McClure, a partner in Ballard Spahr’s Real Estate Department, assured community members at a meeting on his client’s proposal for a mixed-use development in Philadelphia’s Chestnut Hill neighborhood that this client would not approach City Council about a zoning change until the fall.

Bowman Properties proposes to remake the site of the old Magarity Ford dealership into a retail and residential development anchored by The Fresh Market grocery. Current zoning prevents Bowman from moving ahead with the proposal. Rather than apply for variances, the developer intends to seek a zoning change from Council.
