Alan S. Kaplinsky, Chair of Ballard Spahr's Consumer Financial Services Group, expects the U.S. Supreme Court decision in AT&T Mobility LLC v. Concepcion to spur corporations to increase their use of arbitration contracts. However, he holds that will be good for consumers.

The American Arbitration Association and other organizations have been conducting arbitrations for a decade, Mr. Kaplinsky said, and "there is empirical data showing that consumers do very well in arbitration."
