The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will take effect on May 25, 2018, and will impose significant new data protection obligations on financial institutions that provide products or services to EU residents and process related personal information. From stringent requirements for transferring personal data to the United States to extensive data breach notification requirements, the GDPR will impose significant fines and penalties for failure to comply. Global financial institutions are among the industries likely to be most affected by the impending deadlines and fines.

In this webinar, Ballard Spahr privacy and data security attorneys Phil Yannella, Ed McAndrew, and Odia Kagan will discuss what the GDPR means for financial institutions and what they should start doing now in order to be prepared.
