While federal and state regulatory interest in marketplace lending and other Fintech companies is now well-known, the focus to date has been on interest rate exportation issues and, to a lesser extent, state licensing compliance. However, there can be no question that federal and state regulators also intend to scrutinize marketplace lenders for compliance with the federal Equal Credit Opportunity Act and other fair lending laws.

In this webinar, our panel of Fintech and fair lending attorneys will discuss fair lending issues facing marketplace lenders. Topics will include:

  • An overview of fair lending laws applicable to marketplace lenders
  • CFPB fair lending jurisdiction in the small business space
  • Areas of potential vulnerability for various Fintech businesses
  • Compliance strategies
