Crowdfunding is a new way to fund businesses through the use of special websites called "portals" to reach a broader audience of investors. Crowdfunding opens the door to potential investors who seek to invest large and small amounts in a diverse array of projects previously beyond their reach. On October 30, 2015, the SEC adopted Regulation Crowdfunding to permit companies to raise up to $1 million using a crowdfunding portal in securities offerings to both accredited and non-accredited investors.

This webinar is the third in our Crowdfunding 101 series featuring speakers from top crowdfunding portals and Ballard Spahr attorneys. The first and second webinars, "What You Need to Know Now" and "The Nuts and Bolts of Conducting a Crowdfunded Offering" were presented in December and February respectively.

In this webinar we will discuss the role of the intermediaries (i.e. funding portals or broker-dealers) and the regulators, particularly FINRA, in this new capital raising arena.
