The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has issued its final rule (the Rule) amending Regulation C to implement changes to the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) made by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. The Rule makes sweeping changes to Regulation C and imposes significant financial HMDA reporting and compliance obligations while presenting a number of operational and regulatory challenges. Although significant aspects of the Rule will not become effective until 2018, Ballard Spahr Mortgage Banking Group Practice Leader Richard J. Andreano, Jr., will discuss how financial institutions need to begin assessing and revising policies, procedures, and controls in connection with implementing the Rule. Please note that a light lunch will be provided.
