We are pleased to announce a series of webinars and seminars highlighting important Health Care topics, starting with a February program on the Sunshine Act. Join our attorneys throughout the year for legal updates and discussions of pressing issues affecting the health care industry.

The Physician Payments Sunshine Act was released by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on February 1, 2013, and published in the Federal Register on February 8, 2013. During the initial implementation phases of the Sunshine Act, CMS focused on ensuring that companies registered and became acclimated to the Sunshine Act's reporting obligations. CMS' long-term enforcement perspective, however, remains unclear for applicable manufacturers and suppliers of drugs, medical devices, and medical supplies subject to the Sunshine Act reporting obligations.

In this webinar, Ballard attorneys Mary J. Mullany, Beth Moskow-Schnoll, and John Devine will focus on the next stage of Sunshine Act compliance.

Topics

  • Updates on Sunshine Act legislation, regulations, and guidance
  • Understanding potential enforcement trends and the implications beyond Sunshine Act transparency
  • How to evaluate complex reporting obligations and the level of diligence necessary to determine what data must be reported
