The Department of Justice recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and continues its trend of enforcing the ADA against business entities. Despite lengthy delays in the rulemaking process relating to online accessibility, the DOJ has imposed guidelines for compliance and articulated expectations for digital accessibility. Consumer financial services companies should not wait for DOJ regulations to be issued before making their online and mobile activities more accessible.
In this webinar, we will provide an overview of the legal issues involving online and mobile accessibility, discuss relevant enforcement activity, and propose some suggested next steps for consumer financial services companies.
