State and federal governments have been busy in the student loan servicing space in recent months. In May, the CFPB issued a request for information and held a hearing regarding student loan servicing and, in June, it released findings regarding co-signer releases. Last month, the CFPB reported on the specific student loan servicing problems faced by servicemembers and issued a consent order against a major student loan servicer. On the state level, broad student loan servicing laws are emerging.

Join us as we discuss recent trends in student loan servicing regulation and enforcement.

  • Lessons learned from recent CFPB enforcement actions
  • The new overlay of state licensing and operational requirements
  • The CFPB’s RFI and what it portends for the future
  • Other hot button issues in student loan servicing
