The War of 1812 served as a crucial test for the U.S. Constitution and the newly established government. Our young nation battled against the largest, most powerful navy and emerged with an enhanced standing among the countries of the world. Baltimore and the historic waterfront communities along the Chesapeake Bay all played a role in the successful American defense in 1814.

Join us for a conversation with Burton K. Kummerow, author of In Full Glory Reflected: Discovering the War of 1812 in the Chesapeake, and travel along the Star-Spangled Banner Trail, a National Historic Trail that tells the story of the War of 1812 in the Chesapeake Bay region. In addition, Ann Beegle of Star-Spangled 200, Inc., will give us a preview of the upcoming O Say Can You See! Star-Spangled Spectacular events.
