The Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System continues its expansion into new license types beyond the mortgage industry. The NMLS now administers state licenses for a variety of new license types, including:

  • Money Transmitters
  • Collection Agencies
  • Pawnbrokers
  • Insurance Premium Finance Companies
  • Motor Vehicle Sales Finance Companies
  • Motor Vehicle Retail Sellers
  • Check Cashers
  • Debt Adjusters
  • Debt Management Service Providers
  • Payday Lenders

Additional state licenses will be migrating to the NMLS in 2014 and beyond. There are important considerations regarding licensing compliance and state regulatory supervision that are associated with holding a license administered through the NMLS. In this webinar, we will review the system's functionality and discuss ways that companies can adapt their licensing and compliance practices to this new format.

  • How the NMLS works and basic functionality
  • How state reporting requirements are affected by the NMLS
  • Changes to the renewal process
  • The impact on examinations and state supervision
  • Confidentiality of information submitted on the NMLS
  • Additional states and license types migrating to the NMLS
