Doors have opened for whistleblowers. The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act introduced new incentives for reporting violations of securities and commodities laws—making whistleblowers eligible for bounties of 10 to 30 percent of recoveries exceeding $1 million and granting increased protection from retaliation. Similarly, the federal False Claims Act has been amended to protect from retaliation a far broader class of individuals than had been protected under the FCA.

In this program, we will review recent decisions under the Pennsylvania Whistleblower Law and New Jersey's Conscientious Employee Protection Act, and discuss best practices for avoiding and handling whistleblower claims.
