Ballard Spahr continues to expand its national consumer financial services practice into the Southeast with the arrival of litigator Stefanie H. Jackman in its Atlanta office.

Ms. Jackman closely follows Christopher J. Willis, a litigator with extensive experience in consumer financial services who joined the Atlanta office this month. Both attorneys previously worked at Rogers & Hardin LLP, in Atlanta.

“Bringing Stefanie into the Atlanta office keeps us on the fast track to enlarge our practice,” said Alan S. Kaplinsky, Chair of Ballard Spahr’s Consumer Financial Services Group. “We expect activity by the newly up-and-running Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to trigger an increase in litigation. Stefanie and Chris will help us meet client needs in this area, not just in Atlanta and the Southeast, but across the country.”

Ms. Jackman, a Litigation Department associate, joins the Complex Commercial Litigation Group as well as the Consumer Financial Services practice. She is experienced in a variety of consumer litigation under a broad range of laws, such as state statutes prohibiting unfair and deceptive acts and practices (UDAPs), RESPA, and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Ms. Jackman graduated from Emory University School of Law and the University of Vermont.

“I’m pleased to be joining Ballard Spahr’s consumer financial services practice now, when things are moving so quickly in this area,” Ms. Jackman said. “I look forward to working with Alan and this nationally recognized team.”
