Praising the law firm for its outstanding legal services, commitment to diversity, and dedication to the community, E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company has presented its "Meeting the Challenge" award to Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, LLP. It is the 10th time the firm has won the annual award.

The award was presented in St. Louis last week during a meeting of DuPont's in-house and outside counsel. Ballard Spahr was praised for its sponsorship of the annual DuPont Minority Job Fair and its partnership with Constitution High School, a Philadelphia magnet school with an 85 percent minority student body and a focus on civic and legal education.

"We've been aiding the in-house counsel of DuPont for more than 14 years," said Ballard Spahr partner Mark Stewart. "That long relationship, and now our tenth Challenge award, demonstrate that we understand the pressures facing in-house counsel. We work with DuPont Legal, help them cut costs and increase productivity and improve the quality of their services."

Ballard Spahr has received more Challenge awards than any other law firm and was one of only five primary law firms to receive a Challenge award from DuPont's in-house counsel this year.

"This award means many things – excellent legal representation and a strong and consistent commitment to fostering diversity within the legal community," said Thomas Sager, senior vice president and chief counsel at DuPont. "Our core values drive everything we do at DuPont. The values at Ballard mirror our own."
