According to a lawsuit, GS Park Racing, a gaming firm, is attempting to block plans to bring sports betting to the former site of the Garden State Park racetrack in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. GS Park Racing claims it has exclusive right to take any wagers at the former horse track.

A developer at the former track filed the lawsuit and asks a judge to declare gambling restrictions at the former track to be "invalid and unenforceable." Ballard Spahr attorney Roberto Rivera-Soto, who also is an attorney for GS Park Racing, says "GSPR attaches significant importance and value to the rights it holds under the restrictive covenants." The developer's lawsuit claims the restrictive covenants are flawed because they have no end date and represent "an unreasonable restraint on trade."
