Ballard Spahr has established a Boulder, Colo. presence through the addition of three partners from the boutique law firm Gross Cutler Seiler Dupont, expanding its business and finance capabilities in the Rocky Mountain West.

The new partners Carin M. Cutler, Nathan E. Seiler and Steven N. Dupont–focus on corporate and securities law, mergers and acquisitions, licensing, and strategic transactional matters for the firm's emerging growth and venture capital clients.

"It's a big deal for the Denver office and a big deal for our firm in the West," Steven W. Suflas, managing partner of Ballard Spahr's Denver office as well as the firm's new Boulder office.

Boulder is a very vibrant entrepreneurial community, according to Cutler.

"It's definitely a different business environment," she said. "They tend to be at all stages of life cycle from private companies to early stage public. We take them from financing to later development, through asset transaction and sale of the company."

Ballard Spahr's Boulder office is the firm's 15th U.S. location, and its 7th in the western U.S.
