SEC Announces Ad Hoc Meeting of Small Business Capital Formation Advisory Committee and Virtual Coffee Breaks in Response to COVID-19 Challenges Faced By Small Businesses

On March 31, 2020, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced that its Small Business Capital Formation Advisory Committee (Committee) will host a meeting via video conference on April 2, 2020 from noon to 1:30 p.m. ET, in response to the challenges small businesses are facing in coping with Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). The meeting can be viewed live via webcast on the SEC’s website and will discuss how the Committee and the SEC can help small businesses address their short-term capital needs.

The SEC also announced that beginning on April 3, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. ET, the Office of the Advocate for Small Business Capital Formation will begin hosting a series of virtual coffee breaks to engage with the public to discuss updates, trends, and perspectives on how COVID-19 is impacting raising capital. Each virtual coffee break will spotlight what is happening in a particular area of the market. A link to the virtual coffee breaks event page can be found here
