The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has extended the deadline to file VETS-100 Reports for the 2011 cycle until January 15, 2012. This extension follows a previous postponement of the filing deadline due to problems with the electronic filing system.

No doubt because of those prior technical issues, DOL is encouraging covered contractors and subcontractors experiencing difficulty processing their reports through the VETS-100 online reporting application to send their data to the DOL’s VETS-100 Service Desk in paper or electronic file format. Under the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974 (VEVRAA) and its implementing regulations, covered contractors and subcontractors must submit VETS-100 or VETS-100A annual reports detailing the number of protected veteran employees and new hires in their workforce.

If you have questions about the extended deadline, submission of the reports, or any aspect of the VEVRAA, please contact David S. Fryman at 215.864.8105 or, Meredith C. Swartz at 215.864.8132 or, or the Ballard Spahr Labor and Employment attorney with whom you work.
