Kimberly Steefel has nearly 15 years of experience advising employers and their in-house counsel on employee benefits, executive compensation, ERISA, and related tax and securities compliance matters. Kim counsels clients on all aspects of qualified and nonqualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, and other employee benefits, as well as labor and employment matters.

With a background working for large law firms in New York City, Cincinnati, and Houston, she has extensive experience in tax qualified and nonqualified deferred compensation plans, incentive and equity-based plans, and other executive compensation arrangements including design, implementation, administration, compliance, and correction methods. She has represented both employers and executives in negotiating and drafting employment agreements, severance programs, restrictive covenant agreements, and other arrangements.

Pro Bono Experience

Kim has assisted pro bono in the formation of, mergers and acquisitions involving, and fundraising for various 501(c)(3) organizations and small charitable private equity funds in New York. In addition, she successfully litigated immigration and family law cases for indigent clients in New York and Texas.
