California's Proposition 65: What You Need to Know About the Impending Regulation Changes

Event Details
26
July 2018
2:00 PM - 3:00 PM ET

Substantial amendments to California Proposition 65 regulations take effect on August 30, 2018. The new regulations change the requirements for what constitutes a reasonable warning under California’s Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act. Failure to comply with the new regulations can result in hefty penalties, including a statutory penalty of up to $2,500 per day per violation, injunctive relief, and attorneys' fees.

Please join Ballard Spahr attorneys to discuss the amended regulations and related enforcement issues. Our panel will discuss:

  • Changes to the regulations' warning requirements and how to best prepare your company to comply;

  • The legal responsibilities under the amended regulations for manufacturers and retailers; and

  • Penalties for non-compliance, including civil litigation, and settlement trends.
