Roger D. Winston is a partner in the Real Estate Department and Managing Partner of the Bethesda office. He is Practice Leader of the Planned Communities and Condominiums Group and a member of the Higher Education and Commercial Real Estate Recovery Groups.

Mr. Winston concentrates his practice on the representation of developers, builders, investors, and lenders in connection with the planning, development, and restructuring of many forms of common-interest projects, including residential, mixed-use, commercial, and conversion condominiums; master-planned and golf communities; senior housing communities; traditional neighborhood developments; and numerous other variations of residential and nonresidential common-interest developments.

Pro Bono Experience

Mr. Winston provided pro bono legal services to Felicia Jackson, a single mother struggling to keep her 10 nieces and nephews out of the foster-care system following the death of her sister. The Jacksons' case was compelling enough to receive support and funding from the ABC show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Montgomery County called on Mr. Winston to represent Ms. Jackson in the acquisition of a property financed by the county. Mr. Winston successfully got title into her name in time to beat a 72-hour deadline required for consideration for Extreme Makeover's 2008 fall season.
