William B. Igoe regularly represents clients in civil litigation and criminal investigations involving the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), federal wiretapping and computer fraud statutes, state and federal unfair trade practices laws, and federal securities laws.

Representative Matters

  • Represented, as part of a team, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in an internal investigation of priests accused of sexual abuse 
  • Represented a school district in a criminal inquiry and an internal investigation of allegations of cyber-spying on high school students 
  • Represents a real estate investment fund in defending multiple putative class actions asserting RICO claims arising out of its investments in certain real estate development projects 
  • Defends corporate clients in shareholder merger litigation 
  • Successfully co-tried a fraud and breach of contract action involving a local real estate development

Before joining the firm, Will interned in the Orange County Commonwealth's Attorney's Office in Orange County, Virginia, where he researched and briefed criminal law as well as prosecuted cases ranging from misdemeanors to felonies in Virginia state courts.

Will is a member of Ballard Spahr's Philadelphia Hiring Committee.

Pro Bono Experience

Will maintains an active pro bono practice. His pro bono experience has focused on representing criminal defendants in proceedings in state and federal court.
