Glenn A. Cline focuses on real estate litigation, with an emphasis on title insurance defense and commercial landlord/tenant disputes. Mr. Cline also regularly represents mortgage lenders in consumer finance claims, as well as private and public companies in a wide variety of business disputes.

Representative Matters

  • Successfully defended mortgage lenders against rescission and fraud claims stemming from the Maryland Protection for Homeowners in Foreclosure Act
  • Obtained a dismissal of claims brought by a homeowner against a mortgage lender under the Racketeer Influenced Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, stemming from the lender’s provision of pay-option adjustable rate mortgages to the consumer
  • Represented the landlords of three of the largest shopping malls in Maryland in landlord-tenant disputes, including breaches of leases for failure to pay rent
  • Successfully settled and litigated cases against mortgage lenders involving the alleged violation of the Truth in Lending Act
  • With Ballard colleague Charles Hirsch, obtained a defense verdict in favor of a local business owner on claims brought by the business owner's brother related to the business owner's alleged fraudulent activities over the past two decades

Pro Bono Experience

Mr. Cline is actively involved in pro bono cases. Over the past several years, his pro bono work has focused on the representation of plaintiffs seeking guardianship of their adult disabled children.
