Steven D. Burt is an associate in the Litigation Department and a member of the Complex Commercial Litigation, Construction, International, and Labor and Employment Groups. He concentrates his practice in complex civil litigation.
Mr. Burt has represented clients in a variety of industries, including a resort developer in a contract dispute with a general contractor, a large multinational corporation suing a former employee for divulging trade secrets and violating a noncompete agreement, a former business partner seeking to recover ownership in a business, and a corporation in a dispute with a commercial tenant.
Pro Bono Experience
Mr. Burt is committed to, and has participated in, the pro bono representation of those with limited access to legal representation. He recently attended an event sponsored by Utah Legal Services and the Legal Services Corporation honoring the firm for services provided in a pro bono case. The LSC Board of Directors, appointed by the President of the United States, presented the award to Mr. Burt and litigation partner Anthony C. Kaye, who both worked on the case and accepted on the firm’s behalf. He was recently honored by the Legal Services Corporation for his involvement in a pro bono matter.
