Emily J. Alt

Emily J. Alt is an associate in the Real Estate Department and a member of the Real Estate Development and Finance Groups. She represents lenders and borrowers in various aspects of multifaceted real estate transactions, including acquisitions, development, leasing, and financing.

Representative Matters

• Represented a mezzanine lender in a credit tenant loan secured by a major office building in downtown Chicago
• Represented UMB Health Sciences Research Corporation in the development of a biopark in downtown Baltimore, including in the negotiation of acquisition and financing documents
• Represented buyers in the acquisition, financing, and leasing of a commercial shopping center in Bordentown, New Jersey

Pro Bono Experience

Ms. Alt represented the Crescent Affordable Housing Corporation, a 501(c)(3) affiliate of the Housing Authority of New Orleans formed after Hurricane Katrina. She also has participated in various election-protection efforts with the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, including amending and updating the Maryland Voters Rights Handbook.
