M. Michelle Allred is an associate in the Business and Finance Department and a member of the Securities, Government Relations and Regulatory Affairs, and Consumer Financial Services Groups.
Ms. Allred advises financial institutions regarding regulatory matters, including chartering de novo financial institutions, converting to different charters, obtaining Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation insurance of accounts, establishing policies and procedures, and advising boards of directors. She documents, structures, negotiates, and makes applications on behalf of financial institutions for various transactions involving the Utah Department of Financial Institutions, National Credit Union Administration, Office of Thrift Supervision, Federal Reserve, and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. She also concentrates her practice on commercial lending, particularly on real estate-secured financing transactions with respect to construction and term loans.
Ms. Allred has experience in lobbying and government relations and has assisted in drafting, negotiating, and securing the passage of several pieces of legislation. She also has experience in advising private, public, and nonprofit companies in general corporate matters, including general formation and corporate governance issues, negotiation of commercial contracts, and various corporate transactions.
