The Copyright Society of the USA (CSUSA) has announced that Ballard Spahr intellectual property attorney Corinne Militello will co-chair the organization's Pennsylvania chapter. CSUSA, a nonprofit organization established in 1953, is devoted to copyright law awareness and education. Ms. Militello will serve a two-year term.

"It is an honor to be named to a leadership position within the CSUSA," Ms. Militello said. "I look forward to helping the Society continue its mission of advancing the study and understanding of copyright law across all disciplines."

Ms. Militello advises clients on trademarks, copyrights, advertising, and internet issues, as well as on privacy and data security matters relating to the collection, use, sharing, and safeguarding of data. She counsels creators and users of copyrightable works on copyright ownership, registration, enforcement, licensing, and related contract negotiation and drafting. She also provides guidance on conducting IP audits and due-diligence investigations, and has represented clients in copyright litigation matters. She speaks regularly on intellectual property and data privacy issues facing private industry and the public sector.

Ballard Spahr has a longstanding tradition of leadership in the CSUSA. Senior Counsel Jamie Bischoff is a past Chair and Trustee of the chapter that Ms. Militello will be co-chairing. Members of the organization include attorneys and professionals from the world's leading IP firms, the entertainment and media industries, solo practitioners, in-house counsel, the authors of primary copyright law treatises, representatives of the U.S. Copyright Office, publishers, academics, and law students.
