Raymond G. Truitt, a leading real estate attorney and Ballard Spahr’s Managing Partner, Finance and Operations, has been named Co-Chair of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) 2013 U.S. Law Conference.
Mr. Truitt will be responsible for helping organize the conference, which will be held in San Diego, along with Conference Co-Chair Linda K. Schear, General Counsel at Gregory Greenfield & Associates, Ltd., in Atlanta. Mr. Truitt has served on the Law Conference Program Committee since 2006 and will be the fourth Ballard Spahr partner to serve as Co-Chair.
“This conference is an important forum for both lawyer and non-lawyer participants to discuss trends in the law affecting commercial real estate, the current economic landscape, and the retail industry’s outlook,” said Mr. Truitt, a Real Estate Department partner in Ballard Spahr’s Baltimore office. “I’m honored to be co-chairing the 2013 conference, and I look forward to working with Linda to make it a great success.”
Mr. Truitt focuses his practice on commercial real estate financing, leasing, development, and restructuring. As Managing Partner, Finance and Operations, he manages the business operations for Ballard Spahr’s 13 offices across the country.
Mr. Truitt has been recognized for nine consecutive years with the highest ranking by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, and for 13 consecutive years in The Best Lawyers in America. He also has been a frequent speaker at the Law Conference and a contributor to various ICSC publications. He is also a fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and serves on the advisory boards for the College of Arts and Sciences of Loyola University Maryland and the Edward St. John Real Estate Program at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School.
