Business and finance attorney Michael E. Kearney has joined Ballard Spahr in the firm’s Las Vegas office.

As a member of the firm’s Business and Finance Department, Mr. Kearney will concentrate his practice on complex commercial transactions and mergers and acquisitions, with an emphasis on tax-driven transactions and those involving licensed gaming entities. He also is a member of Ballard Spahr’s Mergers and Acquisitions/Private Equity, Transactional Finance, and Tax Groups.

“Mike’s Nevada legal experience and his skill in handling gaming and tax issues make him a significant addition to our team,” said Bill Curran, managing partner of Ballard Spahr’s Las Vegas office. “We are pleased that he has joined us.”

Mr. Kearney is a 1978 honors graduate of the College of Business at the University of Nevada, Reno, and received his law degree in 1981 from Santa Clara Law, graduating magna cum laude. He earned his Master of Laws degree in taxation from New York University in 1982.
