Ballard Spahr litigation associate Keith B. Joseph has been elected to serve a two-year term on the Board of Directors of Equality Forum.

Equality Forum is a Philadelphia-based nonprofit organization whose mission is advancing national and international gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender civil rights through education. Among numerous other initiatives, it presents the largest annual LGBT civil rights forum in April of each year. It is governed by a Board of Directors and guided by a National Board of Governors.

“Through its many fine programs and events, Equality Forum is making a major difference not only in the LGBT community in the Philadelphia area, but on a national and international level. I’m excited and honored to begin serving with the dynamic members of its board,” Mr. Joseph said. In addition to his work in the area of complex commercial litigation, Mr. Joseph has an active pro bono practice assisting clients in custody and landlord-tenant disputes.

Ballard Spahr’s commitment to diversity extends to several affinity groups that work to support and retain lawyers through mentoring, internal networking, and business development. The Equality Ballard: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Lawyers and Friends Group seeks to create a supportive environment through pro bono outreach and philanthropic work.
