Daniel V. Johns, a partner at Ballard Spahr noted for his work representing employers and management in labor and employment matters, has been elected President of the Community Learning Center, a nonprofit education center that helps adults develop literacy, math, and other life skills.
Since its founding in 1987, the CLC has helped more than 6,000 adults improve their basic reading, math, and computer skills and develop the tools needed to secure and maintain employment. Mr. Johns, a partner in Ballard Spahr's Litigation Department and a member of its Labor and Employment, Higher Education, and Health Care Groups, has been involved with the CLC for four years.
Mr. Johns represents clients in a variety of labor and employment issues, including discrimination and harassment claims, interest and grievance arbitrations, ERISA litigation, collective bargaining, and unfair labor practices litigation. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, where he received a bachelor's degree and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Mr. Johns received his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law.
