Ballard Spahr partner Mary Theresa Metzler has been elected to the position of President-Elect of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Labor and Employment Relations Association (LERA). She will become President after her one-year term as President-Elect, which begins June 1.
LERA is an association of professionals interested in all aspects of labor and employment. Its more than 50 chapters provide networking and scholarly research opportunities to individuals in academic research and education, compensation and benefits, human resources, labor and employment law, public policy, and union administration. Ms. Metzler has been an active LERA member for more than 20 years.
"I am very honored by my chapter's faith in me," Ms. Metzler said. "I've benefitted greatly from LERA meetings and events, and I look forward to shaping and furthering the professional opportunities LERA offers to the Philadelphia community."
Ms. Metzler is a member of Ballard Spahr's Labor and Employment Group and focuses her practice on private and public sector employment and labor law on behalf of management. She is a widely sought speaker on a range of topics within labor and employment law.
