Trial testimony appeared to bolster allegations that John Karoly, a jailed Allentown lawyer, faked a will after his brother Peter Karoly, also a lawyer, died in a 2006 air crash.
One of Peter Karoly’s former colleagues, Edward Eidelman, testified that the brothers had long been estranged, and that he thought it was “ludicrous” when John Karoly, in the eulogy of his brother, suggested the two were planning to resume their law practice together. Under a 2006 will that John Karoly submitted, Peter Karoly's law firm and most of his assets would have gone to John.
Ballard Spahr’s Evan W. Krick and Marc J. Weinstein represent the Karoly sisters—Kim Luciano, Joanne Billman, and Candice Pamerleau—who contend the will is a forgery.
