When Ballard Spahr was named one of AOL Energy's “Top Five” choices, partner Dena E. Wiggins was interviewed about the current state of the law as natural gas developments get under way in the Marcellus and Utica shales.
Ms. Wiggins said law needs to evolve, particularly at the state level, so that it can keep up with the changes in drilling and transportation. “I’m concerned that there's not enough infrastructure right now,” Wiggins told AOL Energy, adding that navigating the relationship between the states and the Federal Energy Commission is a vital part of building that infrastructure, especially in the area of pipelines that are seeing significant tremendous shifts in gas flow patterns.
