Ballard Spahr government relations attorneys John Estey, Adrian King, and Robert Clark recently represented Janney Montgomery Scott (JMS) in connection with $11.5 million in grant money the company received from the Commonwealth and the City of Philadelphia to stay in Philadelphia, where it has been headquartered for more than 100 years. Their representation included developing a strategy for creating competing offers from multiple jurisdictions. They were also instrumental in drafting legislation for including the project in Pennsylvania's Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program budget.

JMS says it helped the state and its municipalities borrow billions of dollars from investors for public projects. The company will remain in Philadelphia and move to new headquarters at 1717 Arch St. in summer 2012.
