Keith Fisher, a Washington-based lawyer with Ballard Spahr, plays a "hired gun from out of town" in Cleveland Versus Wall Street, a film by Swiss director Jean-Stéphane Bron that premiered last year at Cannes. The film focuses on a mock trial that pits Cleveland against 21 banks it blames for the foreclosures that wrecked the city's economy.
Mr. Fisher, who plays the lawyer for the banks, said he hopes the movie will help dispel the myth that banks were solely responsible for the economic crisis. "The whole subprime crisis is one that's ever so much more nuanced than most popular accounts would have us believe," Mr. Fisher said. "It's implausible to believe that only Wall Street is responsible."
