The Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010 has ushered in a new era in banking law, according to The Legal Intelligencer. "It's terrible news for our clients, but as is so often the case with what we do as lawyers, it really is something that is very helpful to lawyers who specialize in the area," Ballard Spahr's Alan S. Kaplinsky told the paper. Ballard Spahr created a task force to coordinate its work for clients in this area. Mary J. Mullany, who serves Ballard Spahr's public-company clients, told the paper that her focus, as a task force member, has been on the executive compensation and corporate governance issues.
